Turn Burnout Around Today!

By Peter Anthony Wynn

• Take a deep breath, look around and connect to the things you can be grateful for. IF you own a business, have a career or job no matter how it is doing what you were given is an opportunity, one that was not presented to billions of people in the world. Remember we are only here for a small instant in time and you have been given a great opportunity to really participate so find some quiet space everyday and spend a few minutes focusing on what you are grateful for, even if everything “seems” like it is not going the direction you thought you have the choice and opportunity to change it. Smile through this process. Think about this, somehow a computer linked to the world found this article and you are reading it… how amazing is that one fact!

• Write down 50 things you love about your job, try to get to 100 and force it, it is not always easy but you must really start to focus on the greatness not the process. If the burnout is the relationship write 100 things you love about your wife or husband, everything as simple as it seems, write it down. If there is something that you do not like find its opposite and fall in love with that. The key is to overload your mind and flood it with positive.

• Write down everything you love about your managers and employees. Do the same with your clients, why are you grateful for them what inspires you about them.

• Do not make drastic changes during burnout, if you are not sure your experiencing burnout then do the exercises and from there find an amazing space in your mind and live there.

• Before you make a decision ask if you were completely excited and inspired about your business and the opportunity you are currently in what would be happening right now. What set of circumstances would allow you to feel completely amazing about what your doing?

• Add some things into your life that completely take your mind away and give you a fresh perspective. I started traveling and working with Orphanages for a period. It allowed me to look past myself and got me out of the box so to speak.

• Generally when we burn out it could be that we have or have not gotten what we wanted but are not sure now what we want, we have lost hold of our compelling future. Create a dream board and list out on the back of it “Why” these things must happen for you and some time frames for them to happen. Hang it in a visible place.

These are some ideas that have really served myself and many of our clients. I am proud to say that I survived the burnout and am looking forward to an amazing second half.
