Tekken 6 King Learn to Tame the Beast!

By Nicholas J P Smith

Tekken 6 King is a top pick for many of the game’s serious players, as he has a collection of devastating combo holds and throws, which can literally drain your opponent’s life bar by at least half. These are difficult to pull off, but like anything – with practice and plenty of time training, they’ll become second nature. That really is the best things about Tekken 6 – the learning curve is never too steep, and you’ve got the training mode to assist you in learning combos and techniques.

King can easily be identifies by wearing a tiger mask on his head (in the early games, some people actually thought he WAS a tiger) and fighting in the luchador wrestling style. He often wears tracksuits, and favours holds and grapples instead of blows (punches and kicks). Tekken 6 King is from Mexico, which is where he learnt this style of fighting supposedly defending himself on the streets, as he was raised as an orphan.

King’s motivation to enter the King of Iron Fists Tournament is purely financial. He is only entering to win the prize money set by the Mishima Empire, and has no involvement with Heihachi or Jin Kazama. King has one main rival in the game – Armor King. Instead of a tiger mask, Armor King wears a jaguar mask, and has a very similar fighting style and moveset to his rival. While the two fighters are constant rivals, they are the best of friends, and savour the competition in order to help them become better warriors.

The best strategy when playing as Tekken 6 King is to play a patient, intelligent game. Wait for your opponent to attack, before dodging and countering with one of your grabs. Because these kinds of moves are his strongpoint, you’ll need to get in close to your opponent, so it’s important to learn how to dodge and get behind them.
