Cash For Surveys 5 Things You Need to Know

By Matthew B Walsh

Cash for surveys – Is it really possible to make some money?

9,090,000. Wow! This is how many pages Google returned when I typed in the search phrase ‘cash for surveys’. The question is, how many of these pages will lead you to genuine survey sites and how many will lead you to scam sites where you’ll waste your time and money. Sadly, I’d bet most of those will lead you to scams.

Please don’t let this deter you however. I have been making a good income taking online surveys for about 18 months now working with the flexibility to choose my own hours and working location. Sometimes I’ll fill them out in front of the TV, sometimes I’ll sit outside in a nice coffee shop. It’s completely up to me – there’s no boss to tell me when or where to work. I can’t tell you enough what a great position that is to be in.

What sort of figures can you realistically be looking to earn?

There’s no hard and fast rule, but generally speaking surveys can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 1 hour to complete. For 10 minute surveys you’re looking at around $5 whereas 1 hour surveys can hit $75! Not bad for just giving your opinion on products.

If you’re quick you can also get involved in focus groups where you have online discussions about a range of consumer topics and can be paid as much as $300 per hour.

There are so many sites offering cash for surveys – should I join them all?

No. There are two main things to look out for. Firstly, don’t be put off by having to pay a small fee. The fee is usually $15-$70. There are plenty of free sites out there and do you know why they’re free? Because the list of companies they provide surveys from is worthless. These sites don’t pay you in cash either. They usually offer product incentives and credits where you have to pay post and packaging etc. Stay clear of the free sites.

Secondly, only sign up to sites that offer a money back guarantee. All reputable sites will do this and they usually give you 60 days to try their site out.

I’m sceptical – why would a company pay me just to fill a form in?

Because you are a consumer and potential customer! Companies need feedback from real people so that they can get as much information about consumers’ opinions on their product lines as possible. This helps them to improve their products, thereby increasing their sales and profits. You are providing them with vital information and they reward you with cash for surveys.

OK – I’m in. What should I do next?

You need to find legitimate tried and tested sites that have stood the test of time and been online and paying for a few years. There are many cash for surveys review sites on the internet that can point you in the right direction. As I mentioned above, a site will generally be genuine and worth looking into if you are required to make a small one off payment to access their survey list, and they have a money back guarantee of at least 30-60 days.
