Are you struggling to succeed playing Texas Holdem? You are probably making one of these Texas Holdem mistakes.

Texas Holdem can be easy to play and hard to play. You can make a lot of money or lost a lot of money. Really, it all comes down to you. How good a player are you? How committed are you to succeeding?

If you are reading this you probably care about how well you do and how much money you win. You most likely want to improve your game and are interested in learning how to do so, which is great.

Texas Holdem Mistakes That Everyone Makes #1

Everyone has made this one. It is playing past the flop without anything. And I mean nothing, nada, zilch. I have done this before and looking back I don’t know. It seems stupid from a logical point of view but we all do it sooner or later.

The reason is a deep seeded emotional drive that doesn’t want us to lose the money we have already put in the pot. It thinks that as long as we are in the pot we have a chance of winning it so doesn’t want us to fold. It is important to overcome to stupid drive and prevent yourself from playing past the flop, and putting more money in the pot, if you don’t have anything good.

Texas Holdem Mistakes That Everyone Makes #2

Another mistake we all make, which is similar to the first but different enough, is chasing a draw. It’s fine to have hole cards, see the flop and be going for a draw, but what is not fine is when the pot odds and probability don’t match up for it to be profitable.

Playing draw cards can pay off big time when you hit. However, if you are losing too much money trying to play these draws then it isn’t worth it. Always make sure you know your probability of hitting your draw and analyze the pot and calculate the pot odds to make sure you are paying too much for the privilege.

Texas Holdem Mistakes That Everyone Makes #3

The third mistake everyone always makes, usually at the beginning of their Holdem career, is they bet different amounts before the flop depending on how good their hole cards are. That is, they limp in with weak cards and bet big with strong cards.

This is the biggest and worst type of tell. You are practically screaming to the table the strength of your cards. Avoid this if you are doing it.

Now, think about a time when you have made one of these mistakes, and imagine how you would have done if you didn’t make the mistake. I want you to realize how powerful it is to learn about the mistakes you are making and then eradicate them from your game, making you such a better player. What you need to do next is go out and find more mistakes you are possible making and then remove them from you game, and you will become a lot more successful very fast.

I have always dreamed of becoming a piano teacher – someone who could motivate young minds, spread the good news and wonders of music and most of all, inspire and touch many people lives. And yes, I am glad that I have become a modern music teacher who brings creativity, animation and innovation in the classroom.

Teaching is indeed a noble profession; it requires not just knowledge, expertise, skills and experiences but also the right discipline and attitude towards work, colleagues and a great number of students from time to time. Most teachers would agree if I state in here that music teaching just like teaching any other subjects really demands much of our time, effort and resources.

Undoubtedly, I love to teach piano and I love being with my students. This noble profession has been providing me both lots of challenges and rewards for more than a decade now. Fulfilled and happy, a piano teacher has always been given a chance to touch a heart and change a life. The following are some reasons why I love my being a piano teacher:

A piano teacher can do a wide variety of interesting things such as playing around with the kids, singing and dancing, having fun, and most of all, laughing out loud over some silly things. Yes, I enjoy these activities because at my age, it brings out the childhood and joyfulness in me.

A piano teacher tends to experience several great things that are irreplaceable and incomparable: happiness, motivation, commitment, excitement, pleasure and recreation in many different ways. You may feel somehow stressed out and tired for the day, still, you may feel the happiness and ending a day with this thought: you had a great day and it’s all worth your time and effort.

A music teacher can be a very good, loving, caring and responsible parent even without getting married and/or giving birth. In a class, a piano teacher can have a bunch of sons and / or daughters in an instant. And mind you, the kind of joy and excitement they give us, piano teachers have been very rewarding and fulfilling. For a mentor, nothing can be more rewarding than a smile, a hug or a kiss from a student who learned his lessons not just on piano and music, but also in life.

A piano teacher has a great opportunity to manage his own time and resources. As music educators, we are given the privilege to use our creativity, our own piano teaching strategies, as well as our own ways and means on how we could teach piano more efficiently and effectively. With these techniques, I am certain that our dear learners would appreciate us not just as their music teachers but also as their mentors.

Needless to say, piano teaching can be a lot of fun and excitement as we, piano teachers can always enjoy and love each piano teaching experience with our students. Truly, I would forever be happy that I am a piano teacher – and yes, this is indeed my profession and my passion for a lifetime.

On this note, I hope that all piano teachers out there feel the same way as I do. Let us join hands and spread the wonders and the good news of music. Have fun!

Polaroid instant cameras are a series of instant film cameras created by the Polaroid Corporation, founded by Edwin Land in 1937. The philosophy behind these cameras was to make photography easy and fun, and produce an instant result that would allow people to see the photographs they’ve created in seconds, not days later after the development process.

Polaroid instant cameras used three types of film over the years, including roll film, which used two rolls of film that performed different parts of the development process, pack film, which involved physically removing the film after each shot and removing a layer of the film by hand to complete the development process, and integral film, which is the iconic white bordered, ‘hands off’ self developing film most people associate with a Polaroid camera.

Polaroid Instant cameras have experienced a resurgence in popularity of late, alongside the growth in popularity of vintage or retro style photography. These cameras are quirky devices that produce an interesting and very unique style of print, and can be found in very good condition at very cheap prices.

The one downfall of owning a Polaroid is getting film for the camera, as it can be quite expensive and hard to track down. This is changing however, with groups such as The Impossible Project creating new instant film for Polaroid cameras for the new generation of Polaroid fans. They are hoping to have products available very soon, but in the meantime you can keep an eye out on eBay or Amazon for cheap bulk packs of film, or inquire at specialist camera and film shops.

Polaroid instant cameras are a unique and fun form of photography that is recommended for any photographer or photography enthusiast, or even anyone who just likes the idea of an instant, quirky and unique physical memento of a special moment, in a world that seems dominated by the non-physicality of digital photography.

Looking to get into the exciting and artistic world of Instant Film Photography?
The Masaai believed in God, Enkai who lived on the mountain of God, Ol Doinyo Lengai located in Tanzania. The Laibon was the religious leader who connected the people to Enkai. The Laibon would perform religious functions such as praying for rain, victory in war and he was also a prophet and a seer. This was a much respected man in the society. Today, the masaai community has embraced Christianity a lot. Cases in the community would be handled out of court by elders. They would pass judgment on the issues concerned and the people would respect this and do as has been suggested. Compensation would involve of cattle.

The Masai believe that the woman is the one who is supposed to do most of the work in the homestead. This involves cooking, looking after the children and milking. Building shelters is also a task performed by the women who help each other in the community. Since these shelters are very temporal, they have to be maintained, a task left to the women. The girls do help there mothers while the boys are left to play and herd calves and lambs.

The dead were never buried as they could pollute the land. They were left out to be eaten by scavengers. They would be covered in animal fat and blood to attract the scavengers such as hyenas and jackals. The dignitaries such as the Laibon and the chiefs were the ones entitled to a decent burial. Any corpse not eaten by the scavengers wad deemed a disgrace to the society. Babies after birth were not named or accepted in the society until after 3 months due to the high mortality rate.

Manufactured by the New Jersey based Pantone, Inc. the Pantone Colour Bridge Guide has the appearance of a giant fan of shallow rectangular strips. Each strip contains a set of various different shades of a particular colour. Adjacent to each Pantone colour, the nearest four colour (CMYK) equivalent is also reproduced. Note – whilst some Pantone colours can be reproduced from four colour process printing, many cannot be exactly replicated. This is why a Pantone colour bridge guide is the most important Pantone product on the market.

The four colour match is important for use within the printing industry (since most printing presses will use the 4 colour CMYK – Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Key Black – core/process colour technology). The Pantone Colour Bridge Guide also helpfully reproduces the CMYK percentages used for the screen tint, also web safe hex colours. Designers can be assisted with their colour choices because the guide also provides conversion formulae for multiple colour spaces.

If you work as a designer or printer, you will already be acutely aware that it is vital to maintain a uniformity of colour. The Colour Bridge Guide uses state of the art technology in order to create standardized shades with absolutely the highest degree of accuracy. The shades are printed on bright white paper, similar to that which is favoured by modern designers. Finally, the books have been designed to be durable, allowing a designer to transport and use them easily as guides when meeting potential customers. Note however, that due to the effects of light, it is recommended that these guides be replaced about every 12 months. That may be just a rouse from Pantone to help them shift product, you can expect to get a good few years out of a Pantone book. It could be just scare mungering.

1. Start listening to jazz albums. That’s right, there are many genres to choose from like bepop, cool jazz, acid jazz, jazz rock, latin jazz, free jazz, jazz funk, modal jazz ect. By listening to this music, you will develop a true feel for the music as well as how the instruments interact. Studies also say that listening to music has health benefits such as handling stress and there are lots of songs that are soothing and relaxing. Don’t just listen to albums, go to concerts and listen to live performances, then that way you will become more inspired by seeing jazz performers of different age levels. You can listen to musicians such as Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Chick Corea, Art Tatum, Bud Powell, Oscar Peterson, Robert Glasper, Jason Moran, Billie Holiday and other old and new artists.

2. Learn to play an instrument. If you are a beginner and want to learn jazz, it would be best to learn the basics of music from an instructor first, such as note values, rhythm, dynamics, articulations, sight reading and especially music theory. Understanding music theory is especially important because in jazz you use scales a whole lot and an advanced knowledge of chords is vital to learning how to improvise and compose. You must also have a natural feel for rhythm.

3. Join a jazz ensemble or group and take other related classes. You will need hands on experience so that you can get used to interacting with other jazz musicians. University and Community Colleges usually have jazz ensembles that you can join, it would help to have some experience on your instrument before joining. You can either get a degree or you can choose the courses you want to take. Jazz improvisation classes start you out with the basic elements of improvisation that will help you understand the concept. There are also history classes available as well as jazz composition and arranging classes.

4. Read about the history of jazz. Jazz has a long and extensive history that includes decades of different styles and a wide variety of musicians. Understanding the history of jazz will help you in your comprehension and playing of the music. Books such as The History of Jazz by Ted Gioia and Jazz 101: A Complete Guide to Learning and Loving Jazz by John F. Szwed are great resources. Libraries also carry good books. You can also search google for articles. There are also jazz history courses available in colleges as mentioned above.

5. Study with a jazz musician. A real person can teach you so much and will help you bring the creativity out of you. You can either contact a jazz professor to take private lessons or you can try contacting jazz musicians on websites in your hometown. Books are good but from my personal experience, books are more effective when learning from an instructor. They can give you advice based on their expert experience about practicing habits in jazz, explaining jazz concepts, helping you one on one with your improvisation and help you when you have a hard time learning jazz.

Follow these suggestions and I guarantee that your jazz experience and enjoyment will skyrocket as well as transforming you into the next big jazz musician. Practice, practice and practice.

In your journey of learning how to play bass, learning songs is a great way IMO of putting left and right hand techniques to work in a real world setting. Garry Tallent’s bass lines with Bruce Springsteen contain some great bass lines that are ideal for learning because not only are they not too complex to play, but they nearly always contain great examples of subtle variations and developments of lines by using rhythm and octave shifts. This article looks at 5 great Garry Tallent lines you should study and learn.

1. Hungry Heart

Hungry Heart is from the acclaimed album ‘The River.’ This is my favourite Bruce Springsteen album – especially CD1. Hungry Heart – which Garry Tallent said he heard as a ‘tuba’ style line – is a great example of stating a simple theme and then expanding on it.

2. Born To Run

Born to Run is an iconic tune in the Springsteen lexicon. It’s one of those interesting tunes that has contrasting sections – and it’s worth transcribing and working out how Garry managed to fit a line into all the instrumentation that’s present without stepping on anyone toes but still fulfilling the bass player’s main role of gluing the harmony to the rhythm.

3. No Surrender

I could have chosen any one of about 5 songs from the Born In The USA album – e.g. Cover Me, Bobbie Jean, I’m Going Down – but I chose No Surrender. This is a glorious 4 minute rocker – and yet again it’s another great lesson in how to vary a line up with subtle rhythmic variations as well as octave changes. All of the uptempo tunes on this album are worth transcribing and learning.

4. Point Blank

This is one of Garry Tallent’s favourite performances with Bruce Springsteen. It’s a mid temp rock ballad. And the two elements that are uppermost in the song are the vocal line and the bass – and that doesn’t happen often in Bruce Springsteen’s music! What Garry plays is another masterclass – this time in supporting the melody line but still functioning as a bass line. Seriously, it’s not technically difficult but there are 6 months worth of practice contained in that one song!

5. I Wanna Marry You

Another song from The River. This one again is a mid tempo ballad – like Point Blank – and again the bass line is very supportive but very melodic. A close study of this tune will definitely help you with making your bass lines more melodic.

Summary

Garry Tallent summed up his playing beautifully in an interview – he said something like: ‘I try to be noticed only if I’m NOT playing.’ If you think about that carefully your appreciation of what the bass player’s role in the band will increase. Garry’s playing is a great lesson in how to be supportive within a band context – and yet still create varied and interesting bass lines. It would be very easy within the Springsteen band setting – with all the keyboards, guitars and voices – to settle for pumping 8th notes on the root note. Yet Garry never does – contemporary music would be far more interesting from a bass playing perspective if more bass players could learn that lesson.

As rap music has evolved, producing rap and hip hop beats has gotten easier, making it something that everyone seems to be jumping into these days. Think about it – I come across handfuls of people each day that want to learn to make beats. And why shouldn’t they? Not only is it fun and easy to do, but it can also be very rewarding on many levels.

While making hip hop beats can seem easy, a lot is dependent on the equipment that you use (and the fact that you know how to use that equipment). This is where most aspiring producers hit a roadblock. They are completely clueless about what hardware or software to purchase. And that is where many people stop their ambition of becoming a hip hop beat maker. But, with a little knowledge, you’ll be able to avoid that pitfall, and it starts with knowing what you need to buy to get started.

For a beginner in hip hop production, I strongly suggest that you choose an inexpensive beat making software program. And, I say that for many reasons, but the most important is that by going this route, you completely avoid wasting tons of your hard earned cash (and a lot of your time trying to learn something you don’t know how to use). Why waste a few hundred bucks on something that is geared towards professionals? You’ve got to start small before you go big.

You can find a decent range of inexpensive beat making programs out there. There are even a few that are specifically catered to hip hop and rap production and are loaded with sounds specific to this genre. Focus on buying software that not only provides this, but also is geared towards newbies. Being able to produce professional sound beats right out of the box is not only gratifying, but it gives you the drive to keep going. And, if you do that, you’ll be way ahead of the rest and well on your way to becoming the next big hip hop star!

If you want to get your hands on an amazing, easy to use beat making software that will have you making beats right out of the box, visit Hip Hop Beats now and start making your next professional sounding hit record today!

When a musical instrument is played we can hear sounds in the form of music. Musical instruments have unique sounds which are formed by playing notes, in varying ways. So what is a note? What is a Recorder and Piano? What are recorder notes in relation to piano notes? Let us explore.

A note is a sign in music. It tells the musician to do something on his or her musical instrument to produce a sound of the note name and note length as indicated on the sheet of music. The names of the musical notes are A B C D E F G which are the first seven letters of the alphabet and called the musical alphabet. The musical alphabet repeats itself for the note range of the musical instrument. Each of the note names are associated with flats and sharps eg A sharp and A flat, B sharp and B flat etc. Notes are given specific positions on a set of five lines called a stave to indicate which A or B or C etc to play.

Notes vary in the length of time they are sounded. They are given names which correspond to a number of beats or counts and they have different pictures. The first few note lengths which people learn and play are the crotchet ( 1 beat ), minim ( 2 beats ) and semibreve ( 4 beats ). And so if a two beat A is required then the picture of the minim will be placed on the stave in position of the A required.

Musicians learn the positions and note lengths whilst learning their instrument.

Now you need to understand what a recorder and piano are to understand the recorder notes in relation to piano notes. A recorder is a wind instrument in varying sizes made from wood or plastic. It is like a tube in two or three sections with a headpiece and shaped mouth hole at one end, a round open hole at the other end and holes. A recorder player creates a sound by closing their lips over the mouth hole and blowing air down the tube. Different sounds are made by pressing the finger tips or pads on the holes in various configurations called fingering, so that no air escapes from the required holes. For example, if a musician wants to play an A, then the fingering for one of the A’s is to place your left hand thumb on the thumb hole which is underneath, and the first two fingers on the top two holes on the upper side. The range of notes on a recorder is greater than two octaves. Music is written on the treble clef stave for most of the recorder sizes.

A piano is a keyboard instrument with black and white keys. A pianist produces a sound by pressing down on the keys in varying numbers. What happens is that the pressed down key or keys cause small hammer or hammers to hit tuned strings which cause vibrations and produce a sound. The lower the key the thicker the string. The black keys repeat themselves in groups of 2 and 3 for the entire length of the keyboard. The note names of A B C D E F G are positioned on the white keys in relation to the black keys eg all C’s are directly to the left of the group of two black keys, hence when you press this key down, the sound of C is produced.. A piano usually has around seven repetitions of A to G, called octaves. Music is written on a grand staff consisting of a treble staff joined to the bass staff below, by a line.

Let’s look at the recorder notes in relation to the piano notes.

1. Note names and note lengths are the same for both instruments.

2. Musical notes are written on the treble staff for most recorder types and piano. The piano also has notes written on the bass stave. And so the notes from most recorder types are equivalent to the notes played with the right hand on the piano. Hence most recorders use the treble clef and the piano uses the treble clef and bass clef.

3. The recorder has a smaller note range than the piano which is > 2 octaves compared to 7 octaves. And so all notes you play on the recorder can be played on the piano.

4. Both instruments are completely different in looks, size, production of sound and the actual sound you hear. Recorder sounds are produced when air vibrates down a recorder tube. You play different notes by pressing your finger tips on the holes in various configurations. Piano sounds are made when pressed down keys cause a hammer to strike a tuned string which vibrates. You play different notes by pressing down different keys with your finger tips

5. Loud and soft notes are formed differently between the two instruments. A loud sound is produced by blowing harder on the recorder or pressing more firmly on the keys of the piano. A soft sound is produced by blowing more gently on the recorder or pressing less firmly on the keys of the piano. However the markings on sheet music for loud and soft notes are the same for both instruments.

You now have an understanding of what a note is, what a recorder and piano is and that the notes on the recorder in relation to the piano have features which are the same and different.
